Winter Makeup Essentials

As winter is finally here ,our skin changes and becomes more dry and flaky and in desperate need of moisture.

The most important piece of advice I could give to anyone is to make sure you moisturise your skin morning and night and use a very gentle cleanser as your skin can be more prone to breakouts due to the cold weather and harsh chemicals you use on your face.
The cleanser I use is the Neutrogena acne and oil free one, I find this really helps to keep away major breakouts and give your skin some moisture, because the cleanser is oil free it doesn't clog up your pores. After I cleanse I use the Nivea sensitive moisturiser, this sets a good  clean base for my makeup to go on to.

The foundation I have been loving this winter is the Rimmel Match perfection, I have mine in the lightest shade which is 100 Ivory, I find this has great buildable coverage, I'd say it was medium to full coverage, It goes on smoothly and doesn't cake up at all, for me with oily skin it does tend to show through about 4-5 hours after applying, This foundation is £8.

After applying foundation I go on to use my Rimmel Wake me up concealer in the shade 010 ivory, This concealer is one of the best for covering pores and hiding them dark circles, it also doesn't crease even without being set with powder. For £5.49 you can't go wrong.

For my cheeks I like to go with a light look as I like to go with a more natural look in the winter time, I have been loving the MUA Mosaic Blush in the colour English Rose this Blusher gives your cheeks a peachy glow, it also has a light champagne colour intertwined which gives your cheekbones an illuminated look to them and gives the illusion that your wearing more makeup than you are. For only £2.50 this is a bargain.

For the eyes I have been using a zoeva pallete in the shade Rose Golden, this  has 3 matte shadows and 7 shimmers, I have been using the colour Reflective Elegance all over my lid and inner corner on a flat shader brush which I spray with some mac fix plus for a foiled look, in my crease I have been loving the colour Harmony and in the outer v I have been using the matte colour in Wonderfull  to add depth and definition. This
pallete is only £15 so is a little on the pricy side but you can create a range of day to night looks with this, I then finish the eyes with the Maybelline Lash sensational Mascara which is £8 which is very similar to the well know benefit rollerlash Mascara which is more on the pricy side at £20.

For my eyebrows I have been using The freedom Brow Pomade at a price of £5 this brow product is a game changer, it adds definition without them looking too drawn on, however you only need a light hand as it is highly pigmented, I then set my brows with the Essence make me brow for £4 which is just a brow tinting gel.

Lastly I finish my makeup with a shaping powder from mac for £16.50 this just helps to minimise oil and keep your makeup in place all day.

I also apply a nude lipstick at the minute I've been loving the chanel lipstick in the shade 81 insouciante, it is a more browny toned nude and is a matte finish, and very long lasting even through meals, it is a little pricy at £26.
